Nestor Morales
In 2021, Nestor earned a dual-degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering from a top-tier university in Spain. He also studied abroad in Sweden and Australia, where he gained exposure to diverse cultural and technical environments.
Nestor has a strong technical background in data engineering, with expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data integration. He is proficient in various data technologies and tools, such as Airflow, GitHub Actions, and SQL / NoSQL databases. He has also developed his programming skills in Python, C, and C++.
Nestor has excellent communication skills, which he has developed through teaching programming and data engineering concepts to analysts. Multiple times, he has been invited by the senior management team to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and understandable way. He can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
At HelloFresh, Nestor was responsible for managing data engineering projects from start to finish. He can create project plans, manage timelines, and ensure that deliverables are met on time and within budget.
For example, he was responsible for executing the merge of two distribution centres (see case). The project was delivered on time, and with all Stakeholders thoroughly onboarded.
He is able to troubleshoot issues and provide innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges. One example of this is the increase in production speed (over 30%), achieved by removing several bottlenecks (see case) in the production process.
Felix Mooij
With a degree in Data Science and Finance from the University of Amsterdam, Felix has broadened his horizons by combining his skills in finance with his data engineering abilities.
This results in a more holistic view of data engineering solutions, with a strong emphasis on the financial aspect. Additionally, his experience in cloud computing is demonstrated through his AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certificate.
Felix was responsible for introducing a new dynamic way of assigning box sizes to orders. This was instrumental in the launch of the HelloFresh Market, which has since grown to offer over 1000 unique products which customers can add to their weekly meal-kits.
He also presented his solution to the entire company, demonstrating his ability to communicate complex technical solutions to stakeholders.
Felix has a strong long-term orientation, preferring scalable solutions that require minimal future engineering involvement.
For example, in response to a major incident, he developed a data ingestion pipeline which has since prevented over EUR 400.000 in damages from manual input errors (see case).
Overall, Felix Mooij is a highly skilled data engineering consultant with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.
